Introduction © Paddock Wood Athletic Club 2012 Made with Xara This website has been created to provide information regarding the proposed Paddock Wood Athletic Training Track at Putlands Sport & Leisure Centre. The Paddock Wood Athletic Training Track has the backing of local and county councils plus various local and national sporting bodies. It is a facility that will be open to everyone in the community, it will be a valuable asset to the town and it will further enhance the already extensive sporting facilities at The Putlands Sport & Leisure Centre in Mascalls Court Road Paddock Wood. The proposed 2/4/6 lane track at Putlands Sport & Leisure Centre was granted full Planning Permission by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council on the 21st July 2005. A 2/4/6 training track has two lanes for the first 200 metres then 4 lanes for the next 100 metres and six lanes for the last 100 metres. This will enable all runners to train at any distance on the track.    In August  2010 Tunbridge Wells Borough Council granted permission for the proposal to extend the time for the planning application for the all weather running track with associated perimeter fencing and lighting adjacent to Putlands Leisure Centre. Full funding for the build of the track has now been achieved and construction can commence as soon as the lease details have been finalised. The project has won 2nd place and £1,000 towards the cost of the build in the Community category in the Courier's 2011 Heart of the Community Awards It is hoped to commence the build in the 1st half of 2012 so that it will be completed to coincide with The 2012 London Olympics.
